Rock The Boat 2

So I’m taking tomorrow and the weekend offline and I’m giddy as hell about it. Have a glorious weekend and don’t be jelly. My life is rarely this carefree.

Tips for the perfect long weekend holiday:

  • Drink your signature cocktail all weekend – you deserve it!
  • Dress in breezy maxi dresses, anything sheer and havaianas.
  • Go for a natural look, wash hair, tie it in a bun then let it dry naturally – your waves will be killer – thanks Karen for that tip.
  • Create a Long Weekend menu and try a recipe using fresh produce from your local market – I’ll be chefing up cold eggplant stacks drizzled with olive oil and balsamic with fresh basil and love.
  • Enjoy an ice cream in a classic cone.
  • Head north, where the air is cleaner and the stars shine brighter
  • shut down your laptop, even if you stay in the city turn it off – explore your own surroundings and act like a tourist while you’re at it!
  • Own being lazy – if you have a DIY project or gardens you want to work on do it at a slow pace. And if you get distracted by cocktails or friends, who cares enjoy it.
  • Drink your signature cocktail..

Happy long weekend everyone!

This is what my car looked like this week…

This is me tomorrow…

This is what I will be looking at…

I will drown in this before I drown in the lake…

Rock the boat a little!

Happy May long weekend.

Sweater Weather

So apparently the formula for fall is as follows: Sweaters, booties, chunky sweaters, layers and ….. Sweaters.

It’s officially sweater weather, basically crawl into the perfect sweater and hibernate under it till spring.

For me sweaters and boots are easy as hell. I love fall.

Fashions Night Out, Cupcakes and Lipgloss…..

Stylish ladies in five-inch heels hit Lemonberry Boutique last night for Fashion’s Night Out. They were there for deals, cupcakes, the braid bar, social scene and a grab at Lemonberrys signature lipgloss. Love! I did my part at the cupcake table and spent my weekly salary on some amazing pieces. I don’t have any regrets on either indulgences.

This weekend I’m going to try to remember I have hobbies that don’t involve staying out until 2 AM and spending all my money on clothes. I’m going to work on my website, organize my fall wardrobe and take instagram pictures of my organizing skills and lounging and maybe a nap whilst lounging. Oh and exercise. I should probably do some of that too. Thank God it’s Friday right?!

Here’s my FNO in pictures, sorry for my lameness I’m too tired to go into detail.

Friday is my second favorite f word….

Happy Friday lovelies.

If I were a boy…..

I’d roll outta bed in the morning and throw on what I wanted and go..

If I were a boy I wouldn’t ever again have to worry about the wind revealing my crotch to the people on the street when I decide to wear a skirt.

This season masculine inspired style is staring me right in the face, and I’m drooling all over this manly mode. The ‘fairer sex’ has long said goodbye to the power suits with shoulder pads the size of hams. Thank god! Modern days have spun a smart twist on menswear, and whether you’ve been on board with this androgynous wagon or you’re fresh like me, their will be something that makes you want to ‘adjust yourself’.

I’m in love with all the meant-for-men pieces – trousers, slim -cut blazers, crisp button ups, elbow patches, neck ties, wing tip detailing, oxfords (stacked high or low) and sky high loafers.

I’m in the mood to wear the pants, in that sexy Lauren Hutton kinda way….

Remember, it’s masculine inspired, not just masculine. When wearing a heavily menswear-influenced outfit try mixing it up with feminine touches, such as:

  • Heels
  • Skirts
  • Jewelry
  • Lipstick

It would be a crime to let the boys keep these styles all to themselves!
